Once the great trad­ing routes from North­ern Europe to Byz­an­tium and the Middle ears ran through Novgorod and across Russia.

For hun­dreds of years numer­ous people covered this route. Gen­er­a­tions of intrepid trav­el­ers and mer­chants plied the dis­tant Taiga rivers, heav­ing their ves­sels and goods over­land where necessary.

The rivers were highways.

Today the vil­lages along the bank are van­ish­ing. people just go with the flow and some­thing hardy reminds of the great­ness of water­ways of ancient Rus
